  • Centre for Criminological Research, Oxford University - provides some key links to criminology sites and information on the Probation Studies Unit.

  • Crime Concern - providing advice and help to professional and voluntary agencies and running youth and neighbourhood projects, site includes online publications, case studies, resource packs and guides, newsletter by email and news updates.

  • Crime Prevention - wide range of resources from the Home Office, including general information, home security, places of work, retail crime, neighbourhood watch, Crime Reduction Unit and more crime prevention links.

  • Crime Prevention (Crime Reduction website) - more useful advice, including home and property security, personal safety, mobile phones, vehicle crime, practical guide to crime prevention, know the law, retail and business crime, local partnerships, dealing with crime project, help and advice sources.

  • Crime reduction - UK government site for practitioners, with toolkits, discussion forum, topic sites including street crime, partnerships, information sharing, useful learning support section including course finder, online information, theories and practical skills and checklists, glossary of terms, virtual library under development, government strategies and wide range of crime prevention advice.

  • Criminal Justice System - 2 sections, one for those working within criminal justice and one for citizens, (eg. witnesses, jurors, including information for victims, defendents and a practical guide to crime prevention).

  • Criminology Information Resources - large set of UK and international links from Cardiff University, including sections on crime prevention, domestic violence, drugs, mental health, penology and prisons, young people, victims, policies and organisations.

  • FSU (Florida State University) School of Criminology - criminal justice links.

  • HM Prison Service - full of useful information, including prison establishments, life in prison, including online booklets, good links to organisations offering advice and assistance, online advice.

  • Howard League for Penal Reform - working towards reform of the (UK) penal system. Site includes information on campaigns, projects, publications and events.

  • International Centre for the Prevention of Crime - models and resources for cities worldwide on the reduction of crime.

  • IQRA Trust Prisoners Welfare - promoting a better understanding of the needs of Muslim inmates in British prisons. Resources for prisoners and staff in prisons, fund for prisoners and families.

  • KCL - International Centre for Prison Studies - at Kings College London.

  • NACRO - supporting ex-offenders, disadvantaged people and communities, site includes news, online information briefings, other publications and project information.

  • National Association for Youth Justice - Justice for children in trouble - UK organisation, campaigns for change in legislation, policy and practice to reform the youth justice system, promotes and develops community based methods of working with young people in trouble, publicises examples of effective policy and practice and provides information and training with the aim of improving the quality of work with young people in trouble, site also includes useful UK and international links.

  • National Curriculum and Training Institute - adult and young people's curriculum for offenders - US site.
