Grants

A range of non-repayable income-assessed grants are available to students in higher education. What's on offer depends whether you will be starting your course in 2005/06 (or are treat as if you are) or in 2006/07.

If you are a full-time student starting your course before September 2006 (or you come under those rules for student finance), you may be entitled to a Higher Education Grant of up to £1,000 a year and financial help towards your tuition fees. You do not have to repay this help.

The Maintenance Grant (or a Special Support Grant) is available for new full-time higher education students from lower income households starting a course from September 2006. You do not have to repay this help.

More detailed information on Grants can be found on the HERO website.
